She calls it something super cool for the Spooky season – local editor, publisher and author Anita Allen has just released a new book, just in time for Halloween. “Nothing Ever Happens Here – Paranormal Events, Hauntings, High Strangeness and More in the Roanoke Valley.” Things that go bump in the night – and don’t fit into any normal narrative. Allen says she’s been involved with the paranormal community for many years, and set about collecting stories from people in the area who had unexpected close encounters. The Small Press publishing company Anita Allen runs with her husband Mike have now published “Nothing Ever Happens Here,” which is available online now; Anita Allen will sign copies of her new book this Saturday at the Grandin Co-lab from 2:30 to 5pm. She also has signing dates coming up at Dragon Books, Sweet Donkey and at the Bibliopub in Roanoke over the next few weeks.
